Terms of Service
Please read these Terms before using VizGolf. By creating an account, you agree to them.

VizGolf is owned and operated by VizDNA LLC. References to "VizGolf," "we," "us," and "our" in these Terms refer to VizDNA LLC.
Terms
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, downloading the VizGolf mobile application, or using the vizgolf.com web service (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who can use VizGolf
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you are 13 or older. The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18 (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use the Service only with parental or guardian consent.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please email [email protected] and we will remove the account.
3. Your account
You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for activity under your account. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.
You may sign up with email and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Sign in with Google. We rely on Apple's and Google's verification that the email address you authenticate with belongs to you.
4. What the Service does
VizGolf provides golf statistics tracking, scorecard scanning and entry, performance analysis, social features (buddy connections, scorecard comments, achievements), uploaded photos and videos, AI-assisted coaching insights ("VizCoach," available with VizGolf Plus), and a World Handicap System (WHS) handicap index estimate.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes that adversely affect a paid feature you rely on.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
VizGolf Plus is an auto-renewing subscription unlocking premium features. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the channel where you bought them:
- iOS (App Store): Apple manages the purchase, renewal, and refund. Manage in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; VizGolf cannot override Apple's decision.
- Android (Google Play): Google Play manages the purchase, renewal, and refund. Manage in your Google Play subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Google.
- Web (Stripe), when available: Stripe processes the payment. Manage payment method, view billing history, and cancel through your account settings. For refund requests on web subscriptions, email [email protected]; we review requests case by case.
If you do not cancel auto-renewal before the renewal date, you will be charged for the next billing period.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including scorecards, photos, videos, course submissions, profile details, and comments ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant VizGolf a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display it within the Service for the purpose of providing it to you and to other users you choose to share it with (for example, your buddies, or, for public content, the community feed).
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content. We may remove content that violates these Terms, at our discretion, and may suspend or terminate accounts of repeat offenders.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right;
- Submit content that is infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, or unlawful;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically retrieve data beyond your own authenticated user data;
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service without our written permission;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service;
- Circumvent rate limits, abuse prevention, or security measures;
- Access or attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization;
- Sell, transfer, or sublicense your account.
8. AI and OCR features
VizGolf uses third-party AI services for several features. When you use these features, the corresponding data leaves our servers and is sent to the vendor named below:
- Scorecard scan-to-import: when you scan a scorecard, we send the scorecard image bytes to Google Gemini to extract scores. If Gemini is unavailable or fails, we send the same image bytes to OpenAI as a fallback OCR provider.
- Secondary scorecard review (quality check): for scans that are novel, low-confidence, or disagree structurally with our database, we re-send the same scorecard image bytes to OpenAI for an independent OCR pass that we use as a quality check. This is not run on every scan; it is triggered by the conditions above.
- Tee-time screenshot import: when you import a tee-time booking by uploading a screenshot, we send the screenshot image bytes to OpenAI to extract the course, date, time, and party size.
- VizCoach insights (VizGolf Plus): when you request coaching insights, we send anonymized statistical summaries of your rounds to OpenAI. For this feature only, we do not send your real name, email address, or uploaded photos.
We do not authorize Google Gemini or OpenAI to use your inputs to train their models under our API agreements with them. AI features are subject to per-user rate limits and a daily usage budget to prevent runaway costs and abuse.
9. Handicap disclaimer
VizGolf calculates a handicap index estimate using publicly available World Handicap System formulas. This estimate is for personal tracking and insight only. It is not an official handicap index. Official handicaps are issued by authorized handicap providers such as the USGA (via GHIN). Do not use the VizGolf estimate for tournament play, club qualification, or any context where an official handicap is required. Verify with an official provider.
10. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Privacy → Delete Account in the mobile app, or by emailing [email protected]. Deletion anonymizes the personal information on your account and revokes your access. Some anonymized aggregate statistics (such as course-level averages) may remain, since they no longer identify you. See the Privacy Policy for details.
11. Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or pose a security or legal risk. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of unused subscription time except as required by Apple's, Google's, or applicable consumer-protection law.
12. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party services (for example, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, Stripe, golf course data providers, and the operating systems on which the apps run). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services.
13. Privacy
Our collection, use, sharing, and protection of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
14. Service availability and disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We will use reasonable efforts to keep it running and to fix problems we learn about.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VizGolf is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service.
15. Apple-specific terms (iOS)
These Terms are between you and VizDNA LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. In the event of a failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the App Store purchase price for the application; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms here with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email to the address on file. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms means you accept them.
